Historic Port

This small fishing port has a history dating back to the Edo Period (1603 to 1867). Just outside the seawall of this fishing port are old quarry sites where blocks of stone were removed for use in building Edo Castle in 1547. Remnants of castle can still be seen today in central Tokyo at the Imperial Palace.
