Akiakane Dragonfly

An Akiakane dragonfly (Sympetrum frequens), also known as the Autumn darter, perched atop a fence post along the northern shoreline of Mishaka-Ike Pond on a bright summer morning. The dragonfly appeared to be drinking droplets of dew that had gathered on the post.
