Hachiman Shrine Torii Gate (八幡神社の鳥居)
Description
Located just across a small bay on the water’s edge in a non-descript fishing village in Minami-Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.
The center path leading from the torii gate to the shrine itself is reserved for the kami (god/deity that are enshrined in the shrine), so be sure to approach and walk either on the left or the right when visiting a shrine that has not be capitalized into a tourist attraction, since you might actually cause offense if a local sees your visiting the shrine and not respecting proper etiquette.
